These are single events you can schedule at your branch.

 
 

Mycology 101 (1 hour)
$250

Basic presentation covering Mycology and how to find 5 seasonal mushrooms throughout the year. 45 minute presentation, 15 minutes for questions and comments.
Requires: a screen or projector with HDMI inputs. (no audio requirements) a table for display and presenting at the front.

Cooking with wild mushrooms (1 hour)
$350

An advanced presentation covering how to cook wild mushrooms. The process of cleaning, cooking and storing edible mushrooms.  25 minute presentation, 25 minutes of demonstration, 10 minutes for questions and comments.

Requires: grounded outlet for hot plate. a screen or projector with HDMI inputs. (no audio requirements) a table for cooking, display and presenting at the front.

Max Number of attendees: 30

 

Growing mushrooms in the Garden (1 hour)
$400

A detailed presentation covering growing mushrooms within your home or in a garden. 45 minute presentation, 15 minutes for questions and comments.

Requires: a screen or projector with HDMI inputs. (no audio requirements) a table for display and presenting at the front.

Max Number of attendees: no max

 

Guided Wild Mushroom Hunt (1-2 hours)
$200-$300 (varies on location)

Boots on the ground, a full mushroom hunting experience. 1-2 hour(s) walk through a local trail in a state or county park that allows foraging. 

No requirements for the event except that attendees can make it to the location.

Max Number of attendees: 30.

 
 

Workshops


 

These are events that have a material component. Each event is designed to cultivate mushrooms and send attendees home with living mycelium.

 

Cultivating mushrooms at home (1 hour)
$500

A full demonstration of cultivation techniques to grow mushrooms at home. Includes liquid culture production from spore print, Agar transfer, Spawn to bulk substrate and fruiting chamber demonstrations. 45 minutes of demonstration and presentation, 15 minutes for questions and comments.

Requires: a screen or projector with HDMI inputs. (no audio requirements) a table for Demonstration and presenting at the front.

Max Number of attendees: 20

 

Log plugging (1 hour)
$650 ($500 if library can source logs)

A full demonstration and lecture about log cultivation. Each attendee will have a workstation that allows them to plug logs with mushrooms and take them home to grow.

Requires: 20 workstations (table and chairs) a table upfront for demonstration. An outlet for a hotplate warming wax. Holes will be drilled with a drill, causing wood debris. Debris will be collected on workstations to grow mushrooms for future events. This event is a little messy, but we are respectful of the places we are allowed to present in. Can be done outside!

These are bundled events to provide branches with options if they want to schedule more than a single event.

Spring & Fall Guided Hunt Program
$350-$500 (2 Guided Hunts, one during Morel Season and another during Hen season) [$50-$100 off!]

A spring and Fall program perfect for those with members who love to be outside. Mushrooms are seasonal so those that attend in the Spring will have a different experience if they attend in the Fall.

 

Summer & Winter Cooking and Growing Program
$700 (1 cooking event and 1 Growing event) [$50 off!]

The off seasons for mushrooms allow us to provide programs for those who are also missing the wet, mild temperatures of spring and fall.
